The NumbersDeck Man City dashboard is live and free: numbersdeck.com/man-city-liability. Pick your assumptions, watch the total change, and click any club to see exactly what it's owed.

Since the guilty verdict, everyone has an opinion on what City should lose. Points? Titles? We've teamed up with NumbersDeck, a football data site, to look at a different question: what did City's spending cost everyone else, in pounds?

Their answer isn't a single number. It's an interactive dashboard where you decide the assumptions and see the result straight away.

The whole league on one screen

The main view: every club's claim around the league total. Change a setting and the figures update.

Open the dashboard and you get the whole league at once. The total sits in the middle, with each club's badge and claim around it. Spurs at £383m, Everton at £226m, Man United at £176m, all the way down to Sunderland and Villa on about £4m each.

Underneath, you can see how much comes from each source: Champions League places, extra league places and Europa League places. Turn any of them on or off and the totals change.

You set the assumptions

Any figure like this depends on a few big assumptions. The dashboard lets you change each one with a single tap:

  • Where City would have finished. 12th (their five-year average before the 2008 takeover), 18th or 20th.
  • The interest rate. 8% statutory interest, or 11.81% from the Burnley v Everton case.
  • How the interest grows. Simple interest, or compounded every year.
  • Relegation claims. £26m a club, £20m a club, £51.7m a club, or off.

Think 12th is too kind to City? Switch to 18th. Think compound interest goes too far? Turn it off. The numbers update straight away, so you can see which assumptions really move the total.

Click a club to see how its claim adds up

NumbersDeck drill-down for Tottenham Hotspur showing a £383m claim split into European competitions (£358m) and Premier League places (£25m), with season-by-season calculationsClick a club yourself(opens in a new tab)
Tottenham's £383m, broken down: £358m from European places and £25m from league places, season by season.

Click any badge to open that club's breakdown. Take Spurs: £358m comes from three seasons where City's removal would have lifted them from 5th to 4th and into the Champions League. Another £25m comes from finishing one place higher in six seasons.

Every line shows the full sum, for example £26.426m × 1.1181^15.35 = £147m. Nothing is hidden. If you disagree with a figure, you can see exactly where it comes from.

Find your club's figure

Spurs, Everton, Newcastle, Arsenal or anyone else: open the dashboard, click your club's badge and see what it could be owed. Then send it to your mini-league.

The headline numbers

Want the short version first? NumbersDeck has three ready-made settings. Low: City finish 12th, 8% simple interest. Central: 12th, 11.81% compounded. High: 18th, 11.81% compounded, with relegation claims included. Here's what each one gives:

Estimated claims by club under the three preset scenarios

Turn relegation claims on and some new clubs appear, because City finishing 18th would have kept them up: Hull (£192m), Wigan (£100m), Bolton (£97m), Birmingham (£93m) and Watford (£14m). You can check each of those on the dashboard too.

Build your own scenario

These three presets are just a starting point. The dashboard lets you mix the settings however you like and see the total change straight away.

A note on the numbers

This is a hypothetical model, not a prediction or legal advice. Any real claim would depend on what the tribunal finds and on each club's own case.

What it means for your picks

Nothing yet. City are still in the Premier League and you can still pick them in Last Man Standing. Compensation claims would take years and are about money, not fixtures. Pick City when the fixture's right, same as always.

Quick answers

How much could Man City have to pay other Premier League clubs?

The NumbersDeck model puts it between £729m and £2.33bn, with a central estimate of £1.41bn. The range depends on where City would have finished, the interest rate, and whether relegation claims are counted.

Which club could claim the most from Man City?

Tottenham, in every scenario: £177m in the low case and £383m in the central and high cases, mostly from missed Champions League places.

Is this a prediction of what City will pay?

No. It's a hypothetical model, not a prediction or legal advice. Real claims would depend on the tribunal's findings and each club's own case.

Can I change the model's assumptions?

Yes. On numbersdeck.com/man-city-liability you can adjust every assumption and click any club to see how its figure is calculated.
